6 month old baby Elliot and family

Another incredibly expressive sitter today!  I decided that 6 months is my favorite baby age to photograph because they can sit on their own (yay for a better variety of poses!) but when I sit them somewhere they stay put!  Also smiles are a little easier to come by at this age.

This shoot was special because Mom put a lot of thought into what poses she would like to get.  She knew that he had a special interest in her hydrangeas and we got some amazing shots of him looking mesmerized by them.  She also wanted some shots on a bench that she has been taking pictures of him on every month since he was born.  Then we did some family shots and she suggested we use their bedroom.  I love using the parents bed as a backdrop because it looks so natural and cozy.  She also remembered that her son LOVED to look at himself in the mirror (with an adorable face like his, who wouldn't!).  This led to some hilarious and adorable pics of him playing with his "friend" in the mirror.  Take a look at some of the highlights from this shoot:
